Storm over the Pismo Beach Pier

These types of photos aren’t always everyone’s favorite. They are judged as too gloomy, too cloudy, without enough sun lighting up the sky. I think, however, that these moments are spectacular in the stories they tell. When the light has to fight its way through the walls of storm clouds to break out of its willowy prison, it brings a unique beauty.

This shot was taken the same evening as Pismo Stormset. That’s the more popular photo between the two, but I felt this photo had its own story to tell.
