Cathedral Lakes Peak

Years ago I read a book by Louis L’Amour called “High Lonesome.” Even though it was set in the desert, my soul kind of adopted the phrase to mean the way up lonely places in the mountains I’d explore. And they became, for me, the greatest sanctuaries on earth.

So I guess it’s appropriate that this peak would be named “Cathedral Lakes Peak,” reflected in Middle Lake in yet another high lonesome sanctuary, where I feel closest to the heart of God.
