The easier road?

For the last several backpacking trips, I’ve had a hard time drinking water, eating anything, or keeping my energy up. Long story short, I made some changes.

One of the changes meant doing less miles and taking on less elevation gain the first day on the trail. It was very hard to stop after about 3.5 miles instead of heading over Bishop Pass into Dusy Basin the first night. But I stuck to my plan, and as a result, I got to enjoy a pretty spectacular view!

This photo was taken up on a ridge overlooking the tarns, southwest of the saddle leading to Ruwau Lake. I’m thankful I chose the easier road!
